Catching up with – Chesney Swansborough
Chesney Swansborough, an environmental chemist and ecotoxicologist, joined Vitis Regulatory in June 2025. Chesney has a degree in chemistry, and a master’s in environmental geochemistry, both from the University of Plymouth and she specialises in assessing environmental hazards and risks posed by chemicals. Her strong expertise in chemical environmental fate and behaviour , crucial for the assessment of risk within regulatory frameworks, has enabled her to quickly become an integral part of the team, managing projects and working with our clients.
Alongside project management, Chesney has been busy preparing for conferences. In September 2025, Chesney attended the Environmental Services & Solutions (ESS) expo in Birmingham. She will also be at SETAC Europe in Maastricht on 17th to 21st May where she will be cochairing and presenting a poster at the session ‘ PMT/vPvM Substances: Advances in Identification, Prioritisation, Risk Assessment and Regulation’. Chesney said ‘the most rewarding part of the last year has been adapting my knowledge to different types of chemistries and I am looking forward to fresh challenges as the rest of the year progresses.’
