Vitis Regulatory https://www.vitisregulatory.com/ is a well-respected consultancy, specialising in assessment of hazards and risks of chemical substances for regulatory purposes.
We currently have a vacancy for a Regulatory Scientist/Risk Assessor in our firm in Brussels, Belgium. The role is a position involving the review and interpretation of scientific information including chemical, (eco)toxicological and exposure information to comply with EU and global regulation of industrial chemicals and professional and consumer products.
You will contribute at a technical level to multi-disciplinary teams working on projects relating to the regulation of chemicals. The role does not include any line-management responsibilities but would involve project management responsibilities as well as interaction with clients. The ideal candidate will therefore be organised, flexible and have effective communication skills – a high level of skill in written and spoken English is essential.
The position is suitable for applicants with good experience in a scientific area related to the hazard and risk assessment of chemical substances and a good knowledge of the application of the REACH Regulation in Europe. Experience with project management to deliver outputs such as supporting reports and dossiers would be an advantage. You will be qualified with a recognised postgraduate degree in a life science or chemistry related area, with demonstrated experience in the application of your knowledge in the area of chemical regulation with around 5 years postgraduate experience in regulatory chemicals management.
Full-time (38 hours per week) or part-time working (minimum 22.8 hours per week) are possible for this role. The role will be based at our Belgium office in the European Quarter of Brussels with options for hybrid home working in appropriate circumstances.
Availability to start in the first quarter of 2026 will be a significant advantage. Remuneration packages are competitive with industry norms, dependent on experience.
